This is a big one for me. I don’t know that I’ve strung together five consecutive days of working out since I stopped playing baseball in high school. That was a few years ago, lol.
Today is also 7 days sober. I wasn’t doing hard drugs, but drinking everyday was taking a toll both mentally and physically. Not to mention all the late night snacking that ensued. I’ve cut all that out.
Can’t lie, the first few days were rough. Coming out of my little hospital stay and feeling physically terrible, I was also all in my head with anxiety and depression. Knowing that going forward in the same direction wasn’t working for me, a change had to be made. I don’t know if this sober thing is a permanent deal, but seven days in, it feels all right. Working out has helped for sure.
Today I’ve got another crazy busy work day so I could only fit in a 30 minute workout this morning. I did 16 minutes on the bike, averaged 15 mph, about 4 miles. Did 5 minutes working the bag, 5 minutes lifting some weights. Then I did a cool down.
